SASSA Takes Solutions to Fernie Local Community
Tuesday, August 27, 2024
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency reported it's alarmed with regard to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some large range of clients/beneficiaries here to access SASSA services.
“This can be a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no entirely functional office committed to service the area on a regular basis. The provider position made for intervention activities a significant influx of possible beneficiaries, that makes it complicated for that office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more resources to help the servicing of all shoppers and boost access to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
